Denise trained and qualified as a chartered accountant locally some thirty years ago. Denise developed an interest in tax and has since built up a depth of tax experience and expertise.
The combined accounting and tax experience gained over the years enables Denise to provide practical complete solutions for her clients so that they can make the best of their businesses and personal wealth.
By encouraging regular client contact, Denise gains an understanding of a client’s situation, style and approach, wishes and plans so that an effective realistic business plan and tax strategy can be determined. Tax planning need not be complicated and often the simplest plan can be the most effective.
Denise particularly enjoys the problem solving aspects of tax and the challenge of needing to be aware of all of the latest tax legislation, HM Revenue initiatives and processes and of any changes in a client’s circumstances or wishes to ensure that any client plan remains effective and optimised.
Key areas of specialism are tax planning for business growth and exit, business restructuring, business start-ups, effective profit extraction, successfully dealing with HM Revenue enquiries, negotiating with HM Revenue regarding payment plans and appeal situations and more specialist tax areas such as advising non-residents, settlement agreements, share options, property related tax issues, maximising capital gains tax business and personal reliefs and inheritance tax planning amongst others.
When not in the office Denise loves to be outside in the fresh air, swimming, visiting historic places or following sport – mainly football and cricket.
