Personal Income Tax
With constantly changing regulations, the UK tax regime is becoming ever more complex.
If you pay tax on your earnings or pensions through Pay As You Earn (PAYE), your employer or Pension Provider will deduct tax on behalf of HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC). In this case, you won't usually need to complete a tax return.
However, if you have more complicated tax affairs, you may need to complete a self-assessment Tax Return. You will always need to complete a Tax Return if you are Self-employed, a Company Director or a Trustee or if you have foreign income. Such returns are completed by around nine million people in the UK each year.
Under self-assessment, you or your Accountant completes an online or paper Tax Return to tell HMRC about your Income and Capital Gains or to claim tax allowances or reliefs against your tax bill. HMRC uses the figures on the Tax Return to work out your tax bill - or you or your Accountant can work it out yourself.
The Fish Partnership Personal Tax Team provide a complete tax compliance and reporting service. We also take the broad overview necessary to utilise the fiscal and financial opportunities available in order to maximise personal wealth and minimise personal taxation.
When providing Personal Tax Advice, we consider it fundamental that we fully understand what our Clients want to achieve. At the same time, it is imperative that our Clients understand the consequences of any Tax Planning we may undertake for them, not only to save tax, but perhaps also to safeguard the family wealth for future generations.
It may be the case that you have complicated tax affairs or that you are a Director, Sole Trader or Partner. Whatever the reason, if you have been issued with a self-assessment Tax Return, you will normally need to complete and submit it to HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) by 31 January following the end of the year of assessment to which the Tax Return relates.
However complex your Personal Tax situation, we have the breadth of experience and qualifications at The Fish Partnership to provide a complete and professional service that will consider all aspects of your tax position. We pride ourselves on not just form filling and processing the Tax Return but we also review the sense of the existing arrangement of your tax affairs and provide pro-active tax advice on any related matters.
