When Caroline Wood took on her late father’s small property business, she stuck to the adage ‘if it’s not broken then don’t fix it’.

Between them Caroline and her late father have used Fish Partnership to deal with their business accounts for more than 15 years, and Caroline still describes herself as a satisfied customer.

Her father had been earning a modest income from renting space, and had long trusted the advice of Fish Partnership in dealing with his finances.

As he grew older Caroline started to take more of a hand in the business, and in doing so got to know the staff at Fish Partnership. When her father passed away Caroline and her sister decided to sell the upstairs part of the property, but still get an income from a tenant on the lower floor.

Although Caroline chooses to do the company books herself, Fish Partnership completes the company accounts and advises Caroline on the dividends she should be paying. They tell her how much corporation tax she should be paying and file the annual report to Companies House.

“I felt the current partner, Paul Laird, was very informative,” said Caroline.

“One of the reasons I’ve stayed with them is that we’ve always been able to communicate well.

“They’ve come to my house for meetings when necessary to make it less formal, and they always explain things to me so I can understand – more than once if that’s what’s needed!

So impressed with the service she was getting for the business, Caroline also chose Fish to sort out her personal finances.

“It used to be quite complicated,” she recalls. “But I took the guidance from one of their financial advisors and now my investments are far simpler.

“I take their advice because I feel I can trust them, and feel very comfortable with them. I would have no hesitation in recommending them to someone else.”
