For more than 70 years, Dr. Kurt Müller GmbH & Co. KG has been a leading name in the specialist world of loudspeaker component design and manufacture.

Founded in Berlin in 1934, the company now has its headquarters in Krefeld, Germany, and since 1970 has also operated in the UK through High Wycombe-based Kurt Mueller (UK) Limited, where a 32-strong team produce the cones that are crucial to a loudspeaker’s sound.

Fish Partnership has acted as the UK company’s accountants for many years and certainly before Geoff Haynes, who oversees the High Wycombe operation, joined Kurt Mueller 11 years ago.

In that time, the company has built up a productive working relationship with Fish Partnershp and partner Paul Laird. Kurt Mueller (UK) handles much of its financial management in-house, supported by Fish Partnership with audit services as well as general, ad hoc advice on issues such as payroll or tax.

Geoff says: “I am not an accountant and occasionally I need to ask how to do this or that, so then I will get in touch with Fish Partnership. They will also talk to people like our bank on our behalf, which is useful.

“We have never thought about changing accountants – after all, why would we? We know Fish Partnership, they know us and they know our business inside out. You just cannot replace that kind of knowledge.”
