Accountants Trial New Tax ‘Toolkits’

Loudwater-based accountancy firm, Fish Partnership, is to take part in an HMRC initiative, aimed at improving its services to tax advisors.

HMRC has invited Fish Partnership to help them develop two new ‘toolkits’ – one on Personal and Private Expenditure in respect of Income Tax Returns and a second on Capital Gains Tax for Land & Buildings in respect of Income Tax Returns.

The toolkits give advice on the steps that agents can take to increase compliance to HMRC rules when submitting returns.

Fish Partnership will be using the toolkit across a three month period up to end of January 2010, keeping a record of the returns where they have used the kits and providing feedback at regular intervals during the trial period.

Martin Sheehy, partner at the firm, said: “We are pleased to be part of the development of these toolkits, which will eventually be used nationwide. Anything that will help to make things more efficient and beneficial to our clients is very much welcomed, so we are thrilled to have a role in these trials.”
