Accountant Co-founds Networking Group
A High Wycombe accountant has co-founded a new networking group to help give local businesses a boost.
Paul Laird, partner at The Fish Partnership, has been joined by business men and women from local firms Bolton Services Limited, Cerub PR, Clydesdale Bank, Flackwell Financial Services, HSBSG Solutions Limited, Selleck Testing, to form the monthly networking group, which has its first meeting on Thursday, May 21.
Paul specialises in advising owner managed businesses and subsidiary companies of overseas groups about their accounting, taxation and business requirements, and wanted to share his knowledge with companies from around the area, as well as allow them to benefit from the expertise available in the district.
“The idea is to help businesses in the local area connect with other companies and be part of a supportive network,” Paul said.
“Members are invited to talk about their business, their aims and objectives and what they're looking to achieve or what they'd like other members to consider them for.
“It is a great opportunity to really sell yourself and your business to other members.
“Networking is proven to be one of the most effective ways for a business to grow and develop, so it’s great to have a networking group doing just that in High Wycombe, particularly in the current economic climate.”
Chairman of High Wycombe Connections, and membership consultant for the FSB, Paul Mes, added:
“We are keen to ensure that High Wycombe Connections Club is a place where serious business is done, but our aim is to ensure that meetings are fun, relaxed and informal.
“We hope that our members learn new ideas and techniques from the invited speakers that they can apply to their own businesses and that good relationships are developed and maintained. After all it’s far better to do business with people you actually get on with!”
Meetings will be held on the third Thursday of each month at High Wycombe Cricket Club and are open to business people from all professions and trades.
