Business Whiz Kids Sponsored by Fish
High Wycombe based accountants Fish Partnership were involved in an evening of mini enterprise recently, for businesses run by children. Fish Partnership sponsored a prize for the most polite team at a Mini Enterprise event, with the firm’s Amanda Morris and Denise Cook also acting as judges.
The Mini Enterprise is an annual event organised by Buckinghamshire Education Business Partnership, with the support of volunteers from local business. 18 teams from local schools attended the evening, at which they had to run a watch making company. Aside from producing the watches, the Year 6 pupils were required to manage accounts and deal with suppliers, buyers and bankers as well as working effectively as a team.
Amanda and Denise were looking at factors such as how well the groups worked as a team and the leader they had appointed. They consulted with the other judges on the panel – representatives from various local businesses – while the young entrepreneurs took a well deserved break watching a children’s entertainer.
The evening culminated with an award ceremony, at which book vouchers donated by Fish Partnership were given to the most polite team, as well as prizes awarded for the first, second and third teams to include a shield for the winning team and rugby tickets donated by WASPS Rugby Club.
Amanda comments: “It was a thoroughly enjoyable evening. It was fantastic to see how enthusiastic the children were, and how much fun they had. We were delighted to be part of such a strong community event, with the local primary schools being represented, judges from local businesses and parents arriving to watch the prize giving.”
