Accountants Welcome New Client

High Wycombe-based accountants the Fish Partnership have welcomed one of the UK’s leading trade associations as a new client.

The British Vehicle Renting and Leasing Association (BVRLA), which has its headquarters at nearby Amersham, represents nearly 800 members, who between them operate more than two and a half million vehicles.

Members spend more than £15.4 billion each year on vehicles, accounting for more than 44 per cent of all new vehicles sold in the UK. Through its members, the BVRLA represents the interests of more than two million business car drivers and the ten million plus drivers who use a rental vehicle each year.

The BVRLA also lobbies on behalf of the industry and regulates the majority of the sector via a mandatory code of conduct and inspections of members, vehicles and premises.

The association, which celebrates its 40th anniversary this month, had been with one accountant since it was formed before switching to the Fish Partnership. That practice was in Chichester, where the BVRLA was originally based, and when the BVRLA moved to Amersham, it wanted a more local accountant.

The Fish Partnership was chosen after the BVRLA researched local accountancy practices and invited several firms to make a presentation. John Lewis, director general of the BVRLA, said: “The Fish Partnership is clearly a highly professional practice but is also small and friendly – a winning combination.”
