Accountant goes Extra Miles for Charity

A trainee accountant at High Wycombe-based accountancy firm Fish Partnership LLP is going on the run to boost life-saving research into cancer.

Chris Nisbet has been training since March to take part in the 13.1 mile Great North Run in Newcastle, on 30 September.

He will be running alongside friend Patrick Harman, who challenged him to take part after claiming that Chris would be unable to complete the run.

Now Chris is clocking up seven miles, two or three times each week, and has already completed an 11-mile run as part of his preparation.

He and Patrick will be running for Yorkshire Cancer Research, as both their families have been affected by cancer, and Chris is aiming for a fund-raising target of at least £400. Thanks to the support of colleagues at the Fish Partnership, he is already halfway there.

Chris said: “At the moment, I am also working towards the professional stage exams for my Associate Chartered Accountant qualification in early September, but I will be stepping up my training once those are over.

“I am glad to do the run for such a good cause, and to set myself a tough challenge, but I think it is likely to be a one off!”

Anyone wishing to support Chris and Yorkshire Cancer Research can visit www.justgiving.com/chrisnisbet which allows the charity to benefit from an extra 28 per cent in tax added to any donations.
